SEWA(Self Employed Womens Association),is composed entirely of women and is the largest union in India.Operating as a non-govermental organisation,SEWA has been promoting an integrated approach to the livelihood of the poorest of the poor artisan women in the textile and handicraft sector.It actively works towards womens empowerment and today employs over 1,000,000 women throughout India.This is a project that is working direcetly with the artisans and is supporting the work of SEWA.
